Caribbean Walnut exhibits a large degree of color variability which becomes less prominent over time. The hearwood is light to medium brown, sometimes with a reddish or purplish hue. Darker brown streaks are common. Thin sapwood is a pale, grayish white.
Caribbean Walnut will exhibit a considerable degree of color change over time. From fresh milled, when the specie exhibits a wide range of tones, it will quickly mute down to a more narrow range of medium brown tones which then continue to darken over time.
