Brazilian Cherry is also very hard and durable with a Janka hardness rating of 2350, almost twice as hard as Red Oak. Our Brazilian Cherry flooring is available in unfinished, engineered and prefinished formats. Brazilian Cherry floors are available in Clear grade, which is generally color matched, Select grade which is very similar to Clear but has more color variation and is still 100% heart wood, No. 1 Common grade or Mountain grade which can have some sap.

Please note unfinished Brazilian Cherry flooring is sold in open, strapped bundles and not sold in boxes. Prefinished solid Brazilian Cherry flooring and prefinished engineered Brazilian Cherry flooring are sold in boxes. Brazilian Cherry hardwood flooring must be purchased in full bundles and boxes; box and bundle sizes may vary.

Working Characteristics:
Brazilian Cherry is rated as moderately difficult to saw and and machine as a result of high density. For planing purposes, it can be machined to a smooth surface. Planing can be complicated by the wood’s interlocked grain. Gluing and finishing Brazilian Cherry is rated as easy. It is important to keep the home’s relative humidity between 35% to 50% before, during, and after installation.
Durability Rating:
Brazilian Cherry hardwood is rated as very durable. It is very resistant to brown-rot and white-rot fungi, and dry rot termites.
